 The Joker - Heath Ledger Tribute
This art doll was created in honour of his beautiful soul

 The Joker will be featuring in Latitude 44 Gallery Framing Décor
One Of A Kind Art Doll Show from 20th June - 31st July, 2014.
2900 Dundas Street West, Toronto, Ontario, Canada
If you will be in the area don't forget to stop by!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
#TheJoker was made famous by the late #HeathLedger who devoted his efforts to perfecting the mentally disturbed character.
Heath Ledger described the Joker as a "psychopathic, mass murdering, schizophrenic clown with zero empathy"
No one actually knows who the Joker really is. There is little confirmed about his upbringing before he turned to a life of crime. Despite being captured, no traces could be found on his fingerprints, dental records, or DNA matches against the Gotham City’s Police Department's databases.
It even seems that the Joker himself is unaware of his true origins.
His own retelling of how he got his characteristic Glasgow smile is constantly changing.
Psychological profiles of The Joker have indicated that he is insane to the extent that he will literally reinvent both his own psyche and history on a daily basis. This indicates that it's possible that no story of his Glasgow smile is true, although he genuinely believes them to be at the time when they are told!
Mirror..Mirror..On The Wall..Who Is The Fairest Of Them All???...
Tuesday, June 03, 2014 Chiara Venice Art Dolls 0 Comments
~Fairest Snow~
Once upon a time there was a queen who sat by an open window on a snowy winters day. While admiring the dainty snowflakes falling before her eyes she accidentally pricks her finger with her sewing needle. Three drops of blood splatter onto the bright white snow that covered the black windowsill. So enthralled in the striking colour combination she absentmindedly speaks out load "Oh how I wish to have a beautiful daughter that had skin as white as snow, lips as red as blood, and hair as black as ebony". Sure enough the queen gave birth to a daughter with hair the colour of ebony, lips as red as blood and skin as white as snow. Sadly the queen would never be able to watch her daughter grow as she dies soon after childbirth, but not before naming her daughter Fairest Snow.
Not too long after the queens death Snow Whites father remarries a beautiful lady. Little does he know that she has a cruel heart and is dangerously vain.
In her possession she owns a magical mirror that never lies. Every single morning she asks the mirror the same question:"Magic mirror in my hand, who is the fairest in the land?".
The mirror in turn replies the same answer as always: "My queen, you are the fairest in the land".
One day as young snow white comes of age the queen asks the mirror her usual question except on this day the mirror replies: "My queen, you are the fairest here so true. But Fairest Snow is a thousand times more beautiful than you."
The queen is so enraged by the mirrors response that she instantly despises Fairest Snow. She turns yellow and green with envy and vows that Fairest Snow must exist no more!
The queen sends a huntsman to kill the beauty but when that fails she sneakily plots to do the deed herself. Dressed as an elderly pauper she knocks on the dwarfs cottage door and offers a
delicious red apple, although Snow is hesitant at first she was to kind to offend the lady's sweet gift unaware of its deathly poisonous quality......
Our Alice has returned!!!!
Saturday, May 17, 2014 Chiara Venice Art Dolls 2 Comments
Hello again,
Here is an update on what's been happening in my world of art dolls!!!
Firstly my newest member to my art doll resume has come together beautifully and am so happy to announce that 'Our Alice and The Grinning Cheshire Cat" has been completed.
Who says you can't be a practical, no-nonsense kind of girl but still obsess over looking your best while on an adventure?
Our Alice has been busy chasing the White Rabbit who was in such a bother over being late that he didn't even realise he dropped his pocket watch. Lucky Our Alice was following him anyway or it would have been such an inconvenience in trying to return it since she was trying to get anywhere but here! The quirky Cheshire Cat is helping her out in the directions department although going this way or that is just a little too confusing...maybe she should just sit down and have a nice cup of tea to ponder over it all...
Details: Our Alice stands approximately 30cm in height.
She is a original pattern and a jointed style doll using a bead for the joints.
Her clothing has been originally designed along with the cheeky Cheshire Cat who was created just for her. All of which are made from high quality fabrics.
Our Alice's hair is made from soft synthetic that has been hand stitched and glued into place.
The White Rabbits pocket watch contains a tiny portrait that is an original sketch.
Our Alice's face, stockings, shoes as well as the Cheshire Cat have been drawn and painted completely free hand using mixed media. They have been lovingly handmade with the utmost care & attention to detail.
I'm now working on another classic beauty....
Can you guess who???
A new OOAK Art Doll Princess in the making.
Wednesday, April 16, 2014 Chiara Venice Art Dolls 0 Comments
I have been working on a Semi-Custom order recently.
It is a Barbie Princess inspired OOAK Art Doll and was chosen for such a beautiful and heartfelt reason.
 A Grandmother is having this special art doll custom made just for her adorable granddaughter's 1st birthday as a memento from her and to symbolize her love for her.
This lovely lady wanted something extra special to give to her granddaughter, something that could be admired and treasured as she grew older and would always be able to look at with fond memories throughout her life, to know that her grandmother loved her with all of her heart and still will even when it is time for her to leave this earth....
Such an extraordinary sentiment in which I am so humbly honoured to be chosen to be apart of!
______________________________________________________________________________
Here is the beginnings of the process.
  • Cutting out my own pattern, sewing it together, stuffing and then joining it all to create the body of the doll.
  • Next creating customised clothing patterns to fit her body.
  •  Sewing up her many layers of raffles for a luscious underskirt!
  • Putting the ballroom gown together.
  • Now starting to add some tiny beaded accents to the bodice.
Here is a little sneak peak of this Barbie Princesses darling face.
Hand drawn and painted freehand all by myself :)
Hope you will stay tuned to see her come fully together.
More wip pics are to come!!!
A trail of fairy dust!
Sunday, April 13, 2014 Chiara Venice Art Dolls 2 Comments
My little princess Chiara's 3rd birthday has come and gone and as a special gift she requested I make her, her very own Tinkerbell.
Sooooo......I have been surrounded by fairy dust... everywhere as my own interpretation of a Glitz & Glam Tinkerbell took shape and came to life!!!
Although she was completed and was the "cake topper" for Chiara's cupcake stand she is still a work in progress as she does still need some tweaking and am planning on adding some more Glitz & Glamour to her costuming to have a more of party feel.
Here is my gorgeous birthday girl with her new favourite doll as it is at the moment.
More updates to come but I hope you all like her!
Here are a few collages I put together that can also be seen on my Facebook page: www.facebook.com/ChiaraVeniceCouture
I hope everyone thinks he's as MAD as I do!
I'll be working on a few more dolls shortly so I will post some progress pics as they start to progress.
The Mad Hatter is taking shape!
Friday, March 21, 2014 Chiara Venice Art Dolls 0 Comments
Okay so I have had to start work on his CrAzY hairdo!
It is a tedious process as I've had to separate ALL the strands to get the individual threads to give his hair a slight frizzed look.
Then I had to create tiny little reels of thread to strap on him.
I hand made his hat with a cardboard core and covered it in material... then I glued and painted it using different techniques to achieve the textured unique look I was after.
Hat pins were created and the price tag made. All that was left was his Peacock feather, which I decided to be more artistic with and paint on myself using a plain white feather.
I designed and made his little boots just for him also :)
I will be launching the finished art doll tonight on my Facebook page: www.facebook.com/ChiaraVeniceCouture so head over to view it and please LIKE my page while your there if you can! Thanks
